FLAN DX contains combination of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drug providing relief to both inflammation and the annihilation of the bacteria causing the inflammation not only for eye but also for ear.

Mode of Action:

OFLOXACIN is a synthetic antibiotic of the fluoroquinolone drug class considered to be a second-generation fluoroquinolone. Ofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative aerobic bacteria. It functions by inhibiting DNA gyrase, a type II topoisomerase, and topoisomerase IV, which is an enzyme necessary to separate, replicated DNA and also help in its repair, thereby inhibiting bacterial cell division.

DEXAMETHASONE is a synthetic analog of naturally occurring glucocorticoids (hydrocortisone and cortisone).It fulfills it function through multiple pathways, it binds with the corticosteroid receptors and alters the protein synthesis thus prevents the leukocyte infiltration at the site of inflammation, interferes in the function of the mediators responsible for the inflammatory response, suppresses the humoral immune responses and reduction in edema or scar tissue. The anti-inflammatory actions of dexamethasone involve phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins which control the biosynthesis of potent mediators of inflammation such as prostaglandins.

For Eye: Bacterial conjunctivitis, Anterior Uveitis, Staphylococcal Blepharitis, Stye, steroid responsive inflammation due to bacterial infections by gram positive and negative bacteria mentioned below.

For Ear: Inflammation caused due to the below mentioned strains arises conditions of Otitis Externa, Chronic Suppurative Otitis and Media Acute Otitis.

1. Should not be administered in eyes with herpes simplex and fungal infection
2. Corticosteroids should not be indicated in corneal ulcers.
3. Prolonged use may cause glaucoma or cataract.
4. Growth of Resistant Organisms with Prolonged Use
5. Avoidance of Contact Lens Wear
6. If irritations persist, discontinue the use and consult the eye doctor
