ULTRAGEL SUSPENSION contains two components as its active ingredients i.e. MAGALDRATE & SIMETHICONE a combination of an antacid and antiflatulent. This composition has both activity antacids functions by neutralizing the stomach acid and increasing pH of the stomach while antiflatulent functions by breaking up bubbles that makes gas easier to eliminate.

MAGALDRATE is hydroxymagnesium aluminate complex a common antacid formulated to use in the treatment of esophagitis, duodenal and gastric ulcers, and gastroesophageal reflux. It functions by neutralizing the gastric acid and increases the gastric pH that reduces the acid irritant direct effect along with enhancing the mucosal barrier integrity and improves gastroesophageal sphincter tone.

SIMETHICONE is mixture of polydimethylsiloxane and hydrated silica gel an antifoaming agent exerts action locally in GIT mainly used to reduce gas from gastrointestinal tract. It functions by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles and make them to combine with larger bubbles for easy release. Mainly SIMETHICONE does not reduces the gas or prevent rather enhances the rate of exit from the body. As a result it gives relieve from pain caused by the gas formation.
