Ofloxacin IP 0.3%
Mode of Action:
OFLOXACIN is a synthetic antibiotic of the fluoroquinolone drug class considered to be a second-generation fluoroquinolone. Ofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative aerobic bacteria. It functions by inhibiting DNA gyrase, a type II topoisomerase, and topoisomerase IV, which is an enzyme necessary to separate, replicated DNA and also help in its repair, thereby inhibiting bacterial cell division.
For Eye: Treat Infections caused in the conditions of Bacterial conjunctivitis, Bacterial Corneal Ulcers, Bacterial Keratitis, blepharitis, stye due to the susceptible strains mentioned below.
For Ear: Infection caused due to the below mentioned strains arises conditions of Otitis Externa and Media Acute Otitis.

For Eye: One or two drops instilled into the eye conjunctiva sacs every four to six hours or as directed by the Eye Doctor.
For Ear: Instill two or three drops into the ear sac four times a day or as directed by the Eye Doctor.
- Growth of Resistant Organisms with Prolonged Use
- Avoidance of Contact Lens Wear
- if irritations persist, discontinue the use and consult the eye doctor
- Hypersensitivity towards any of the component in the solution.
Adverse Effect:
Transient ocular burning or discomfort, stinging, itching, redness, tearing, and dryness may occur. Allergic reactions, facial edema, blurred vision and eye pain may also occur.
