Sodium Hyaluronate is a sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, which is a long chain polymer and occurs naturally on the corneal epithelium plays an important role in the treatment of Dry Eyes. The use of Hytak provided natural environment to the eye in order to recover the damages and corrosions occurred on the corneal epithelium due to the dry eyes. According to the studies Sodium Hyaluronate in Hytak is also involved in the process of cell migration during re-epithelialisation (repair of corneal epithelium i.e., wound healing).

Hytak enhances tear stability thus reducing loss by evaporation this in turn, helps to retain moisture in the eye and relieve the ocular inflammation associated with dry eyes. Hytak substitutes help to reduce patient discomfort and reduce the risk of damage to the corneal epithelium.

1. Increases stability of Pre-Corneal Tear Film altogether improving its retention time on the corneal surface.

Contraindications:

In patients having a history of hypersensitivity towards any of the component of the ophthalmic solution.

1. Do not swallow solution.
2. If solution changes color or becomes cloudy, do not use.
3. To avoid contamination, do not touch bottle tip on any surface and avoid direct contact with the eye.
4. Close the bottle tightly immediately after use.
5. Discontinue usage if experience any of the above adverse effects.

ADVERSE EFFECTS:

No adverse effects has been reported for sodium hyaluronate 0.1%.
